General Body Meeting

I . Branch Elections

  1. National will subsidize  ---Election Buddy

     Training was attended Dec.3

  •   Voting Window  Dec 17th 8am - Dec 23 8pm---Results would be tallied Dec. 24th

  • Emails will be sent stating time and dates/details

  • May 1st is the membership eligibility date---to be a candidate; 30days from the election to vote therefore anyone as of Nov 17th is allowed to vote

  1.  Any position not filled ---Secretary, Assistant Sec. Assist. Treasurer, At Large Executive Committee;  President can nominate someone

  2. Motion :  Melly, Mary K.  To have a process that members use to identify committee interest

               Coming:   Voted to approve by EC---is balance of $214.00 in December

President’s Report---More work needs to be done.  Support is needed.

Items in Tues. (12/  )meeting by City was not brought before the committee.

Couple chairs have opened.  Another one of the members is resigning.  And there are other folks there that are not.

      Mid Hudson Times Police committee chairs want better communication Posted Wednesday, December 30, 2020 2:54 pm By CLOEY CALLAHAN The Executive Order 203 Oversight Committee, specifically chairman Ray Harvey and Malvina Holloway from NAACP, the Newburgh-Highland Falls Branch, have expressed their concerns on the City of Newburgh and its coordination and communication with the committee. Holloway and Harvey are calling for a more transparent collaboration for the committee, the city government and the public. Currently, there is no action plan put in place and the committee has been calling on the city to make changes for the committee, which would in turn allow them to work smoother and create a sound plan for the April 1 deadline they face as per Governor Andrew Cuomo’s orders.         General Meeting  First item: Developing our committees: What do members want to participate in and how can we actualize it?
